Greenhill Support Andrew Flintoff Foundation

Greenhill Golf, The UK manufactured powered trolley specialists recently provided over 60 of its GTS trolleys for the AF Foundation charity golf day at Royal Lytham and St Anne’s Golf Club, home of the 2012 Open.

The AF Foundation is a project created by England cricket legend Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff and is committed to raising funds to build, develop and improve child rehabilitation and physio units throughout the UK and ‘Fred’ recently opened the first flagship AF Foundation unit at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Greenhill Managing Director Philip Kyle said ‘We are delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause. When you see the results of all the hard work that Andrew has put in, it is inspiring and to be able to help in any small way is very rewarding’
More than 20 celebrities from the world of sport enjoyed the day at the famous course and all acknowledged that the donated Greenhill GTS trolleys were of great benefit around the course.
Kyle added ‘Greenhill has gone from strength to strength this year, and we’ve got more up our sleeve for next year, although we aren’t sure if any of our plans will be able to help Fred’s handicap!’

VIDEO - golfalot.com's Independent Trolley Review

Phil Kyle, Greenhill's Managing Director responds to the above video review:

"Thank you to the Golfalot guys for a really positive independent review.  We are very happy with the performance and build quality of all of our trolleys but it is always nice to hear it from another source.

"To address the two points that were noted as maybe not as user friendly as they could be:

"Reseting the controller after using the distance function by flicking the On/Off rocker switch.  After extensive testing this was the only sure fire way that we could ensure that our braking mechanism brought the trolleys to a complete stop on any hilly courses and to give the golfer a reassurance of knowing that the brake would work and when they arrive at the trolley they have the simplest of resets.  Comparing this to other leading manuafcturers trolleys and their distance functions, we can at least boast that our trolley will stop on most gradients whereas other manufacturers trolleys would not stop until they reach the bottom of the hill/lake/tree/bunker!

"Folding the trolley to a locked position.  This is a debateable requirement on whether it is necessary on electric golf trolleys.  As shown in the video, the trolley folds very easily, and if carried like in the video from the lower central tube the trolley can easily be lifted and carried in one hand therefore negating the need for a locking mechanism.  The fact there is no locking mechanism also makes the trolley extremely easy to erect ready for use!  When considering any other times a trolley would be carried, i.e. to get the trolley in or out of your car boot, two hands are necessary no matter what make of electric trolley is used by the golfer, so it it really a necessity?  The fact that leading brands have adopted this appears to have made it an industry standard/requirement and I have to say I would agree if the aim was to carry your trolley around the course!

"I must apologise, I didn't mean to sound sarcastic. However, we believe in the design of our range of trolleys and we have tried to incorporate the important needs of the golfer with how easy the trolleys are to use, the additional functionality we can provide at such a great price, and thanks to our in-house design and manufacturing processes we believe our customers will benefit from our UK build quality and UK service for many years to come."
